verse 29: the substance, of which all lambs ever sacrificed were only a shadow

verse 38: the 2 quintessential questions. What a wonder that Almighty God asks this. That He creates us and then stands and asks US a question. Do I have an answer to this question?
The disciples' question was most likely for lack of a better answer, but it still is meaning-laden: "Where do you dwell?"

verse 46: We already see Philip imitating Jesus here. His answer echoes Jesus' answer in verse 39. So often I bet this is all that is needed for effective evangelism. Come (into my life, my house, my church) and see (Him who is the center of my life, my house, my church).

verse 47: no deceit: otherweise he would not be an Israelite but a Jacobite.

I plan to be using this as my QT journal as I go through John. The reason I am going through John is that God has really been speaking to me lately about the Trinity and what it (they? He?) has to do with how I am to be and live as being in the image of God. What is going to be toughest to me is that I want to do a half to a full chapter a day, but there is SO much stuff in there I'm going to have to leave stuff out in order to keep a healthy pace. My main goal is to get back to a firm daily Quiet Time habit through this.

1: How great to know that all being and existence starts with and is rooted in Mind, with Thought, with Expression.
Father to Thought   as
Son to Word   as
Spirit to Language

3: note "through" him - God (the Father) uses the Word to create all creation.

4: Note that later Jesus says this life in himself has been granted by the Father - 5:26

9: light is also a beautful picture of the Trinity. Both Wave and particle, moving through space.

13: Born. of. God! How incredible if you just let it touch your heart once again.

17: Not just truth in the abstract sense as in facts. Truth in the personal sense ("I am the Truth").

18: God is knowable!
